Liberian Nurses Association USA partners with the 14th AME Episcopal Church.
Dear Friends:
The Liberian Nurses Association USA (LNA-USA) in partnership with the 14th Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church is pleased to announce that we are working together to fight against COVID-19 in the Republic of Liberia. Healthcare in Liberia is a challenge for so many in the ordinary course of life. The COVID-19 pandemic has turned what would ordinarily be challenging into a healthcare crisis. Liberia has less that ten (10) ventilators, with a population of just under five (5) million people. Ventilators are a critical piece of equipment in treating COVID-19 patients. A vast majority of the population is uneducated.
Our goal is to act intentionally to stop the spread of this virus. We must raise funds to purchase medical supplies. We need Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), and we must deliver food to those who are hungry. Additionally, the LNA-USA intends to send a delegation of nurses not only to deliver supplies, to participate in delivering medical care and to provide training to healthcare professionals on COVID-19 specific applications, that have been developed by our donor partners.
The LNA-USA is a registered non-profit organization. Our history includes working doing the Ebola outbreak to accomplish many of the same objectives. This time, we are partnering with the Church which has the infrastructure to better accomplish our desired results. Our Partners in Liberia are theh Ministry of Health, Eliza Turner AME Church, and Mason Memorial AME Church, Old Sinkor Road, Senior Pastor (Rev. Roseline Barnes)
